Three Countries, One Team: the Benelux Spirit on the Badminton Court

This weekend, the Benelux Chamber team and members swapped meeting rooms for the badminton court, bringing together business connections, teamwork and a healthy dose of competitive spirit at the 2026 “Shuttle Together, Energize Jing’An” Badminton Invitational Tournament in Shanghai.

Representing Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, the Benelux team joined companies and organizations from across the region for an energetic Saturday of sport, networking and collaboration. While the competition may have tested everyone’s agility, and perhaps left a few sore ankles behind the next day , the true highlight was the opportunity to strengthen the connections that define our Benelux community.

Beyond representing three countries, the team also represented the wider Benelux business network: our valued member companies, partners and annual sponsors whose continued support allows us to create meaningful opportunities throughout the year. We were proud to carry the spirit of our community alongside Suzhou Xiangcheng District, Winex Machinery, GONVVAMA, BekaertDeslee, Ageas Group, Bekaert, Ahrend and FrieslandCampina.

On the court, not every shuttlecock landed exactly where planned, but teamwork, enthusiasm and determination were always on display. The tournament was a great reminder that business relationships are built not only through meetings and discussions, but also through shared experiences, friendly competition and moments of connection outside the office.

A special thank you goes to the Jing’an District Talent Work Bureau, Jing’an District Sports Bureau and all organizers for bringing together companies and organizations for a memorable event that combined sports, networking and community spirit.
